There’s a fire burning in Eden
The snake changes skin
But it’s power fuels the flames.
We’ve seen this before
But each time the fire burns more.
Cannibalism, homogenous destruction.
I sit in my room, watching
as my own people harm each other.
Neither side to blame.
Both doing their job.
Students learning the cruelty
the world can bestow upon them
for speaking out, merely believing
that change is possible.
Our elders, forgetting the burden
of the hammer and sickle,
foolishly thinking that they
are afforded new freedoms.
Policemen doing their job
out of fear of repercussion.
Blood staining our streets,
sending flash bangs of consciousness
to our concussed diaspora.
I sit in my room,
My hands stained
with the blood of my people.
Could this be what they want?
Questioning my political allegiance.
Beware of false prophets,
for it is April, and no “pasha”
is as they seem.
Music/Educational Video: Since I haven't posted in almost two years, its only fitting I keep one thing a constant. The music on the bottom of every post. This week its a combo video of Armenian Traditional Clothing and An Armenian Traditional song called "Ari Ari"
